What are the major strengths and weaknesses of the instructor?
- His major strengths were effectively reaching out to suffering students and explaining the functions of given topics, be they in class or through his website's video presentations.
What aspects of this course were most beneficial to you?
- This class was beneficial in that it taught me the intricacies of Java coding and its uses.
What suggestions do you have that could help improve the course?
- Due to the timing of the outside of class study group, I wasn't able to attend the java basics lesson to teach me the basic uses and language of the program and suffered because of it. If there were guides or website suggestions to accommodate for this, I feel new students would be very thankful.
Do you have comments on the grading procedures and exams?
- In terms of how exams were given, the use of paper exams that expect the testers to write accurate code without notes to check for mistakes or remind them of the (many) operators used in coding makes it needlessly difficult compared to the real world expectations for coding where coders can either search up help for a difficult operator or ask for a peer review of their code. I'm not asking for the use of the internet or sharing answers, but for at least a small page of notes at most that will allow for a small list of essential reminders.
